Cross-Stitch. Pixel

Counted cross-stitch is pixel-like by nature: one stitch to another, thread by thread. Here the pattern is left unfinished, mid-count.

Ornament was never decoration — it is the language once spoken by shawls, towels and window frames. The series gathers it from Pavlovo Posad roses to cross-stitch and hangs it on the wall without the object it used to live on.
