Shaped Frame

The frame is cut in a wave and sets the boundary in place of a right angle. Inside, a dense pattern of flowers and figures, with no ground.

Ornament was never decoration — it is the language once spoken by shawls, towels and window frames. The series gathers it from Pavlovo Posad roses to cross-stitch and hangs it on the wall without the object it used to live on.
