Ornament AU15

The image is inspired by antique motifs. The panel is executed in hand painting technique, with the addition of gold leaf on an artificially aged surface. The work can become an accent element in classic or Mediterranean interiors, giving them historic depth.

Ornament was never decoration — it is the language once spoken by shawls, towels and window frames. The series gathers it from Pavlovo Posad roses to cross-stitch and hangs it on the wall without the object it used to live on.
