Spasskaya. Blue Sky

The clouds are built large, as in a lubok print: form matters more than accuracy. The clock face and star are left as the only details.

The Russian church is taken apart into simple solids: rectangle, arch, onion dome, cross. Some works rest on a single blue line, others are built up in full colour and gold leaf — between them lies the whole road from sketch to building.
