Theotokos with Child

The work is executed in relief technique using gold leaf. The image, inspired by iconography, conveys a mood of calm and serenity. The relief panel becomes an accent element in an interior, adding depth and cultural context to the space.

One image — Mother and Child — in dozens of states: from the Vladimir icon to a dark face in rays of gold leaf and an almost abstract mark on blue. The series rests on the face: however little of the icon is left, it still looks at you.
