Serpent and Ring

The ring is an ouroboros, a serpent biting its own tail. The tiles are left with their seams, the serpent running over the joins.

The snake coils into a ring with no beginning — a sign older than any culture it appears in. Here it runs over blue, over birch bark and over a dotted field, and gold lands only on the curves.
