Serpent on Blue

The blue field is laid dense and works like a sign's background. The serpent's coils sit over it, gold set in patches along the curves.

The snake coils into a ring with no beginning — a sign older than any culture it appears in. Here it runs over blue, over birch bark and over a dotted field, and gold lands only on the curves.
