Temple

Work from the “Orthodoxy” series is a multilayer relief, executed in hand painting technique with gold leaf. The image of the temple on a dark background creates contrast, emphasizing architectural details and texture.

The Russian church is taken apart into simple solids: rectangle, arch, onion dome, cross. Some works rest on a single blue line, others are built up in full colour and gold leaf — between them lies the whole road from sketch to building.
