Cathedral at Night

The night is laid in deep brown, the stars drawn in gold leaf. The cathedral is left warm — it is the only source of light.

The Russian church is taken apart into simple solids: rectangle, arch, onion dome, cross. Some works rest on a single blue line, others are built up in full colour and gold leaf — between them lies the whole road from sketch to building.
