Blue Irises

The flowers are taken in close, nearly dissolved into strokes. The resin holds the thickness of the paint without leveling it.

Each flower is set down in a single stroke, the vase built up in relief. Two layers of resin give a depth that flat paint cannot. Some works are carried through to pure pattern, others left painterly.
