The ring is shot from above: spectators at the edge, light at the center. The crowd is built in small strokes, the ring left clean — which is why it reads as a screen.

The ring seen from above: the crowd runs off the edge, light gathers in the centre, the canvas is left clean like a screen. In one work the ring is framed with roses, in another a fighter lies down: here the bout has always already happened.
