Madonna with Child

The work, executed in relief technique with subsequent hand painting, creates the effect of a softened, moving image. Pronounced texture and warm tones emphasize depth and emotionality of the scene, bringing an atmosphere of calm and contemplation to the interior.

One image — Mother and Child — in dozens of states: from the Vladimir icon to a dark face in rays of gold leaf and an almost abstract mark on blue. The series rests on the face: however little of the icon is left, it still looks at you.
