Mother and Child

The work is executed in a volumetric relief technique, using gold leaf and hand painting. Multilayered texture and deep colors create a glowing effect, allowing the panel to become an accent in an interior, adding depth and expressiveness.

One image — Mother and Child — in dozens of states: from the Vladimir icon to a dark face in rays of gold leaf and an almost abstract mark on blue. The series rests on the face: however little of the icon is left, it still looks at you.
