Golden Churchyard

The gold ground and the cool shingle hold the work on the contrast of warm and grey. Gold leaf covers the whole field, the roof rendered in pigment.

A church built without a single nail, taken apart into what it is made of: aspen scales of the domes, tier upon tier, the plan on a sheet. Dark wood, red and birch bark — the palette of the North, where everything is made by hand.
