Red Slopes

The roof is built from red strips — the same shingle, seen close up. Gold leaf runs only over the dome, the rest is held by texture.

A church built without a single nail, taken apart into what it is made of: aspen scales of the domes, tier upon tier, the plan on a sheet. Dark wood, red and birch bark — the palette of the North, where everything is made by hand.
