Temple Architecture

The work from the series “Temple Architecture” is a monochrome relief with fragments of gold leaf, creating an effect of ruin and time. Deep relief and contrasting colours give the work monumentality, integrating it organically into contemporary interiors.

The Russian church is taken apart into simple solids: rectangle, arch, onion dome, cross. Some works rest on a single blue line, others are built up in full colour and gold leaf — between them lies the whole road from sketch to building.
