Keel-Shaped Arches

The keel-shaped arch is the form of the Russian temple, unmistakable for anything else. The outline is drawn in gold leaf along the contour.

The Russian church is taken apart into simple solids: rectangle, arch, onion dome, cross. Some works rest on a single blue line, others are built up in full colour and gold leaf — between them lies the whole road from sketch to building.
