White Horse

White is the base color of Dymkovo: the toy is whitened first, then painted. Here the painting is reduced to the harness, the rest left clean.

A palm-sized toy raised to a metre and built in relief: mane, harness, dot by dot. The horse and the lady once shaped from clay and whitened with chalk now stand on gold — as what they always were: small household icons.
