Clearing

The gap holds the whole composition — the rhythm of the cells runs toward it. Warm and cool are set apart on either side.

Shishkin's forest passed through a grid: every cell has its own green and its own gold, and only at a distance do they add up to trunks and the light between them. A work for a wall you walk up to and away from.
