Shishkin's grove is broken into cells and rebuilt. Each square carries its own tone, so the forest holds together at a distance and dissolves up close.

Shishkin's forest passed through a grid: every cell has its own green and its own gold, and only at a distance do they add up to trunks and the light between them. A work for a wall you walk up to and away from.
