The cells are few, marking only the light, the rest painted freely. This is where the image turns from drawing into pattern.

Shishkin's forest passed through a grid: every cell has its own green and its own gold, and only at a distance do they add up to trunks and the light between them. A work for a wall you walk up to and away from.
