Carpet. Medallion

The central medallion is the mandatory figure of a Persian carpet. Gold leaf is laid over it in patches, like traces of light.

A carpet once hung on the wall as a sign of plenty is half-eaten by black lacquer — and the pattern reads better than it would whole. A series about memory: some of it is sealed for good, the rest shines.
