The border of the black is built in teeth, so the carpet reads as charred. Red is left only at the bottom.

A carpet once hung on the wall as a sign of plenty is half-eaten by black lacquer — and the pattern reads better than it would whole. A series about memory: some of it is sealed for good, the rest shines.
