Black Madonna

The work is inspired by the image of the Black Madonna. Hand painting with a craquelure effect and gold leaf gives the relief a likeness to an ancient icon. The panel brings a sense of history to the interior, becoming an accent element of the space.

A red circle and inside it a black figure with a gold face — an image reduced to a sign that reads across the whole room. Sometimes only the eyes of the Virgin remain, and that is enough.
