Blue Forest

Blue is laid in broad patches over the forest. The checkered panels at top and bottom hold the composition.

Birch bark peels away in layers every few years, and its pattern never repeats. This series assembles it into a grid with graphite leaves and carries it through to a rhythm of verticals. Some fragments are left without pigment.
