Archangel. Gold Ground

The gold is laid in leaf, sheet overlapping sheet, the joins visible up close. The wings are built in relief over several passes.

Three figures bent over one cup, inside a circle that has no place of honour. From Rublev's detail down to three spots and a vertical — the series tests how much can be removed before the image is gone.
