George the Victorious

The work, created in relief with subsequent hand painting, draws on traditional iconographic subjects. The contrast of black and white, together with gilding of selected elements, gives the piece expressiveness and depth, allowing it to serve as a focal point in a contemporary interior.

One subject lived through dozens of ways: rider, spear, serpent — each time in a different matter, from red ground to blue tile. A series about an image that survives any reworking and stays recognisable from across the room.
