Saint George the Victorious

The panel is executed in hand painting technique using craquelure that mimics an ancient fresco or icon. Gilding of the halo and rays adds solemnity and depth, making it an accent element in a classic or ethnic interior.

One subject lived through dozens of ways: rider, spear, serpent — each time in a different matter, from red ground to blue tile. A series about an image that survives any reworking and stays recognisable from across the room.
