The Church of the Transfiguration on Kizhi island was raised in 1714: twenty-two domes, tier upon tier, and not a single nail in the log frame. The domes are clad in lemekh — aspen shingles that turn silver over the years in the northern wind. It is a building made by hand from what grew nearby, and it is still standing.
The series takes the church apart into what it is made of. Dark red domes on a dark field — the silhouette seen from the water. Lemekh in close-up, shingle by shingle, built in relief. Tiers set one upon another, as in a measured drawing. Plans and sections on birch bark — a sheet from a carpenter's archive. Wood, red and birch bark are the palette of the North, where everything is built by hand and everything shows.
Relief on artboard, paint in dark and red pigments, here and there gold leaf on crosses and cupolas. The lemekh is modelled shingle by shingle. Over it, epoxy resin, which gives the wood the depth of a wet board. The edition is numbered.
A series for a bedroom, a study, a country house — for quiet rooms with wood and white walls. Kizhi does not argue with the interior: it is made of the same material.

Each work is built by hand at the st.Aura studio. The object's data is recorded in the series passport and the studio registry.
Editions
Every edition is closed: once exhausted, no further numbers are issued. Number and tier are recorded in the certificate of authenticity.
