If everything painting is about is taken out of it, what remains is what it is made of: gesture, stroke, blot, stripe. Kandinsky wrote a whole book on this — "Point and Line to Plane" — and proved that those four elements are enough to hold a wall. The series is built on his proof.

Black gestures on white — the trace of a brush taken to wall size. Blue relief — a line gone into volume. Coloured blots, hatching, stripes, a grid of blue signs — compositions that have no subject and should have none. The only landscape in the series — a green field with a pink sky — is also about colour, not place. These are works for walls that need rhythm rather than a story.

Relief on artboard — the stroke and the blot modelled; painting with a wide brush; leaf gold rarely, as a single sign; epoxy resin, which gives black and blue their depth. The edition is numbered.

A series for a study, a loft, an office, a gallery, for interiors where the furniture has already said everything. Graphics is a work that does not argue with the room: it sets its tempo.
